Pest control in Lake Wales, FL
Soul Pest Control inspects and treats Lake Wales homes and businesses for German cockroaches, ants, spiders, roof rats and other Florida pests, with one-time treatments and ongoing plans.
Lake Wales mixes older homes around downtown and Lake Wailes with block houses on slab, newer subdivisions and properties that back onto citrus groves. Older homes give silverfish, roaches and rodents more gaps to use, while grove edges and tall palms bring roof rats and ants closer to the house. Our visits start with a full inspection so we treat the cause, not only the pests you can see. You get a plain-English plan that covers what we found and what we will do about it, and we follow up to confirm it is working.

About
Soul Pest Control is a family owned pest control company based in Winter Haven, serving homes and businesses across Polk County with more than 25 years of experience. Every job starts with a careful inspection of the property, followed by a plain-English explanation of what we found and what the treatment plan involves. Polk County homes deal with German cockroaches, ghost ants, fire ants, spiders, and roof rats, and we treat each of those problems with a specific plan rather than a one-size-fits-all spray. You will know what we are doing and why before any product goes down.
Central Florida pests never really take a season off. Ants push indoors during the summer rainy season. Palmetto bugs move in from mulch, palms, and storm drains, and German cockroaches spread through kitchens and shared walls. Roof rats nest in palms, citrus trees, and attics, and silverfish, earwigs, and centipedes follow the moisture that comes with living near so many lakes. Our work starts by matching the treatment to the pest.
That can mean gel baiting where cockroaches actually travel, snap traps and exclusion sealing for mice, or a perimeter barrier around the foundation to stop ants and spiders before they reach the door. We also handle wasp and bee removal, flea and tick treatment, and mosquito treatment for yards where people spend their evenings. Commercial pest control is available for businesses that need a consistent schedule.
We serve homeowners and businesses in Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City. Call (580) 730-1209 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and we will set up an inspection at a time that works for you.

-
Ant Control
Soul Pest Control targets ant colonies at the source, not just the trails you see. Homes across Polk County deal with ghost ants, carpenter ants, and fire ants that keep coming back after store-bought sprays. We inspect, identify the species, treat the colony, and explain every step in plain English.
-
Cockroach Control
Soul Pest Control targets cockroaches where they actually live: kitchen cabinets, bathroom voids, and appliance gaps in Polk County homes. We inspect first, explain the treatment plan in plain English, and use gel baiting and crack and crevice application to reach hidden harborages. Follow-up reporting keeps you informed.
-
Spider Control
Soul Pest Control clears spiders from Polk County homes by doing the two things that actually work: knocking down webs where they form and treating the entry points spiders use to get inside. Homeowners across Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Bartow get a clear explanation of what we find, a focused treatment plan, and a follow-up report after every visit.
-
Flea Treatment
Soul Pest Control treats flea infestations in Polk County homes with a life-cycle aware approach, covering adult fleas, larvae, and eggs. We inspect pet areas, apply EPA-registered products where fleas breed, and explain every step. Homeowners in Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Bartow call us for flea treatment that addresses the whole problem.
-
Tick Treatment
Soul Pest Control treats Polk County yards where ticks actually live, from Lakeland lawns to acreage outside Bartow. We inspect grass edges, fence lines, and shady resting spots, then apply targeted treatments suited to homes with outdoor pets. You get a clear explanation of the plan and a follow-up report after each visit.
-
Wasp and Bee Removal
Soul Pest Control removes wasp nests and handles bee situations for homes across Polk County, including Lakeland and Winter Haven. Every visit starts with a full inspection to find the nest, identify the insect, and confirm the safest approach. After removal, we point out the gaps, soffits, and lanai corners where stinging insects rebuild, so the problem does not come back.
-
Rodent Control
Soul Pest Control handles rodent control across Polk County, from Lakeland to Bartow to Haines City. We inspect for droppings, nesting, and entry points, then set snap traps and bait stations matched to how mice and roof rats actually travel along walls and rooflines. Follow-up checks confirm activity has stopped before we call the job done.

What customers say
4.8 out of 5 from 84 reviews on Google.
Steve did a great job throughout my residence. I found them because my neighbors were so please with Soul Pest control . I highly recommend this service. One more thing they have heart.
Excellent service! Steve the owner was very helpful. Very fair and affordable, was very thorough and detailed. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Steve!
I’ve used Soul Pest Control for several years now with great satisfaction. Steve is always responsive and thorough. He comes as scheduled, completes his work and reports any issues or concerns. If I’m not at home he texts his report and photos if needed. His service of treatment once every six months was new to me at first, but now I’ve seen how good it works. Very few bugs inside or out. We’ve had a few pest issues pop up due to changing circumstances, mostly new pets causing fleas, then later, no pets, and more rodent activity. In each case, I’ve been impressed with Steve’s knowledge of the pest’s behavior, life cycles, and best control techniques. His solutions were dead on (pun intended) each time. I definitely give Soul Pest Control a hearty recommendation. 3 word summary : Honest, effective, reliable.

Frequently asked questions
How fast can Soul Pest Control help at my Lake Wales home or business?
Reach us at (580) 730-1209 from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. If you leave a message, our 48-hour call-back guarantee means we get back to you within 48 hours. We then set an inspection time that fits your week, and for shops and restaurants we plan around your opening hours so the work does not get in the way of customers.
Which pests cause the most trouble in Lake Wales?
Fire ants are a constant in the sandy soil of the ridge, and ghost ants move indoors during the rainy season. Roof rats live in citrus groves and tall palms and find their way into attics. Older homes near downtown often have palmetto bugs, silverfish and centipedes, and German cockroaches are a common problem in restaurant kitchens and rental units.
How is the cost of pest control in Lake Wales worked out?
We price after we inspect, because every property is different. The pest, how long it has been there, the size and age of the building, and whether you want a one-time visit or ongoing service all play a part. An older home with roof rats in the attic takes different work than a newer house with ants. You get a customized, honest and fair quote before any treatment begins.
Do you have plans for Lake Wales restaurants, shops and homes?
Yes. Businesses can choose monthly or every-other-month commercial service, which keeps German cockroaches and other pests in check where food is prepared or stored. Homeowners can choose a yearly residential plan with regular treatments around the outside of the house and inside where needed. Either way, we start with an inspection and build the plan around what we find on your property.
What drives the price of a pest control job?
Price depends on the size of the property, the type of pest, how established the problem is, and how many treatments the plan needs. A first visit includes a full inspection so the estimate reflects what was actually found, not a flat guess. You get the scope and cost explained before any work starts.
Which areas does Soul Pest Control serve?
We cover Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Wales, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Polk City, Poinciana, and Plant City, along with the rest of Polk County. We are a service-area business, so scheduling a visit is as simple as calling (580) 730-1209 and confirming your location.
How soon can a visit be booked?
Most calls can be scheduled within a few days, and we will tell you the earliest opening when you call. Office hours run Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM most days. Active infestations like roaches or wasps get priority whenever the schedule allows.
How should I prepare for the first treatment?
Prep is usually light. For inside work, clear access along baseboards and under sinks, put away food and pet dishes, and plan to keep kids and pets off treated surfaces until dry. For fleas, vacuum first and wash pet bedding. We confirm any specific prep steps when you book.
What happens during a typical service visit?
The technician inspects, explains what they found, and lays out the treatment plan in plain English. Treatments may include a perimeter barrier, crack and crevice application, bait stations, or a rodent baiting system depending on the pest. Before leaving, you get a clear summary of what was done and what comes next.
Do I need to sign up for a quarterly plan?
A one-time treatment is available, but a yearly plan with regular visits works better for Florida pests like ants, roaches, and spiders that stay active all year. If a recurring plan makes sense for your home, the technician will explain why and what each visit covers. The choice stays yours.
How do you handle wasp nests around the house?
Wasp nest removal targets the nest itself plus the surrounding area, usually eaves, soffits, and entry gaps where paper wasps and yellow jackets build. The technician treats the nest, removes it when accessible, and notes spots worth watching. Trying to knock a nest down yourself often scatters angry wasps.
Are the products used safe around kids and pets?
Treatments use EPA-registered products applied in targeted amounts, focused on entry points, harborage areas, and exterior foundations rather than broad spraying of living spaces. The technician explains reentry times and any precautions before leaving, so you know exactly when normal activity can resume.

Serving Lake Wales
Lake Wales sits on the Lake Wales Ridge in east-central Polk County, where US 27 and SR 60 meet. The ridge is old, sandy high ground, and Bok Tower Gardens stands on one of the highest points of the Florida peninsula on the north side of town, with Spook Hill close by. Citrus groves have long covered the ridge around the city, and Lake Wailes sits right beside downtown, with many more lakes nearby. Sandy soil suits fire ants, which build mounds quickly in lawns and along driveways. Groves and tall palms give roof rats food and cover, and the lakes keep moisture high enough for palmetto bugs, silverfish and centipedes to move into older homes.
